Catherine Short, DNP, MBA, RN, spends the majority of her time teaching nursing theory courses and clinical concepts to junior and senior nursing students. Catherine has a passion for teaching and nurse education and had been a full-time nursing instructor for the last 4 years. Catherine’s nursing background includes nursing faculty, clinical nursing education, nursing professional development, and bedside nursing in obstetric and neonatal nursing. Catherine’s teaching philosophy promotes the importance of a liberal arts education in developing nurses who can critically think and manage in complex healthcare environments and the development of a passion in students for lifelong learning.

Catherine received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Mount St. Joseph University, her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Sacred Heart University, her Master of Business Administration degree from Seattle University, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bucknell University where she played NCAA Division I field hockey for four years.

Catherine is military Army veteran, a wife and mother who enjoys spending time with family, reading, running and doing jigsaw puzzles. She is originally from Princeton, NJ but has lived in Springboro, Ohio, for almost 20 years. She has four teenagers that keep her happily busy with soccer games, swim meets, track meets and driving to and from high school and college activities.
